Lead Agriculture Projects
We have started by looking at a number of crops which are of strategic importance to our business, and where we have a degree of control over the agricultural practices.
This is the case for peas and spinach, which are grown in Europe by farmers under contract for our deep frozen products.
This is also the case for tomatoes, which are grown around the world by farmers under contract for our meal and paste sauces.
Although we buy most of our tea and palm oil on the open markets, Unilever also owns oil palm and tea plantations in various countries.
On the individual LAP pages you will find information on the size of the project, the volume of crops produced, the most important sustainability aspects etc.
